In Warsaw, the culinary heart of Poland, the year 2023 brought forth new trends and inspirations in the realm of gastronomic interiors. In this overview, we aim to delve into the world of restaurant gems, highlighting those places that not only pamper the taste buds but also captivate us visually.
Here are our discoveries – culinary concepts where taste and design intertwine into an unforgettable experience.
BAKEN – WARSAW BREWERIES
BAKEN 2.0. at Browary Warszawskie has become one of the top places that every true foodie wants to visit! The character of the venue is maintained in a simple Scandinavian style, full of wood, designer accents, and art. The space was designed by the owner, Aleksandra Dojnikowska, and its execution was handled by a friendly studio with whom the owners have been collaborating for years on all their establishments (Bułkę przez Bibułkę, PollyPizza, BAKEN na Żurawiej). The design seamlessly blends with functionality, and according to the creators' maxim, it is meant to be – simple, good, and comfortable.

Allora
Allora, the sister venue of the already iconic Port Royal, stole many design hearts in 2023. To collaborate on the interior project, the owners invited Rafał Kaletowski and Maciej Ryniewicz"because they dreamed of a place where" guests would feel a bit like at an Italian grandma's house and a bit like on Italian vacations. Mosaic dominates the tables and bar, terrazzo covers the floors, and thickly woven curtains in unconventional patterns complete the look. The creators of the place have fashioned a concept that captivates not only with classic Italian dishes presented in an original way but also with a modern interior that delights in every detail.

Madonna
The establishment that had to be included in this overview is, of course, the controversial Madonna. Since its opening, the restaurant has stirred up a range of extreme emotions. The venue is located at the intersection of Plac Konstytucji and ul. Jana i Jędrzeja Śniadeckich. Right at the entrance, we are greeted by a figurine of the Virgin Mary in an unconventional arrangement, which has become its distinctive hallmark. Madonna's interior is predominantly adorned in shades of pink, red, and burgundy. The venue is divided into the ground floor and the upper floor. The entire space is adorned with an countless number of paintings depicting saints with some modifications. Some of them, instead of the faces of Jesus Christ or Mary, feature images of stars from global pop culture: Rihanna, Lana Del Rey and Kean Reeves.

Kubuś Piekarenka
Oniric paintings, skies on the walls, designer tableware, and above all, those items on the menu... Kubuś Piekarenka is one of those addresses where you will always encounter a queue – regardless of the time of day or week. From the very entrance, it is evident that every detail has been meticulously crafted here. From cutlery to the original presentation of dishes, everything has been carefully curated to seamlessly fit into the overall concept. Yellow and orange – these two colors have indeed dominated the entire space, creating a strongly lifestyle-oriented atmosphere, making it a place where you simply want to enjoy breakfast.

Trójka kielichów
In the unique decor of this place, we move between an industrial approach and subtly romantic accents. Plates from the antique market, silver-plated goblets, and wild bouquets on a hand-decorated tabletop create a harmonious combination of elements. This interior exudes eclectic charm, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for culinary experiences. Are such places to the liking of Varsovians? Definitely yes! Before the official opening, it was hard to get a table there...

Toast
When it comes to design gems in Warsaw's Praga district, we cannot fail to mention a place like Toast! The atmospheric interior of the venue is the work of Dash Interiors studio, which created a place with a distinctive austere space filled with bold elements. The place is primarily associated with blue accents that give the entire space character and become its hallmark. Original flower arrangements, sophisticated lighting, vase shapes... and those tasty 'plates' on the menu from dawn to dusk – it just couldn't go wrong!

Milk Bar
Another place that can boast an interesting interior is the Milk Bar in Elektrownia Powiśle. The raw and minimalist aesthetics of the space, with an impressive bar, open kitchen, and hanging display cabinets, create a unique atmosphere. Despite its industrial rawness, the place exudes coziness, thanks to the use of warm wood and greenery in the form of olive trees.

AHAAN
Walls covered with photomurals from Thai markets and clippings from local newspapers transport us on an exotic journey. Tables, adorned with floral tablecloths matched with comfortable chairs or colorful plastic stools – everything just like in an authentic street food joint in Bangkok. AHAAN is an example of an interior where every detail tells a story, and where the atmosphere of Thailand blends into urban concrete, creating a unique contrast. Such a place was definitely missing on the Warsaw map!

Dim Sum Yum Yum
For some time now, Regina 2.0. has been named Dim Sum Yum Yum. To The interior of the pavilion at Mysia 3 exudes a diversity of styles. Undoubtedly, the central element is the carved, pink bar with a glossy texture, reminiscent of the aesthetics of the Chinese Buddha. Ombre lamps and colorful curtains add a unique character, and guests will sit on blue chairs at tables with tiles in a trendy buttery hue. Yellow, pink, and blue have defined this space, creating a place full of expression and harmony!
