In each episode, a Copenhagen chef and a proud omnivore travel the world. Each episode focuses on an ingredient found in food and culture in different parts of the world: bananas, Chili, coffee, corn, pork, rice, salt, and tuna.
The series is executive produced by Matt Goulding, the Emmy Award-winning producer of CNN's "Anthony Bourdain: Explore the Unknown Parts."
Episodes of Omnivore were filmed in Denmark, Serbia, Thailand, Spain, Japan, Djibouti, Peru, South Korea, France, Colombia, India, Bali, Rwanda, Mexico, and the United States. Redzepi aims to showcase culinary traditions and highlight efforts to protect the environment and sustainability around the world.
"This show is a testament to what makes food really great – the ingredients, the people, the history, and the pure magic of cooking. Omnivore isn't just about introducing food; it's a journey into the soul of culinary culture and its vibrant community. Through the lens of eight unique ingredients, we travel around our delightful planet and meet the diverse people who inhabit it. We roamed the five continents, discovering countless stories along the way. This trip confirmed one indisputable truth: food is everything. You can tell any story through what we cook and how we eat. Because food is not just food; it's a window into our lives, our history and our world, " says Redzepi.
We're thrilled, aren't you? We're already counting down the days until the premiere!
