When we hear "Milka", we immediately get the image of a delicate milk chocolate that melts in your mouth, but... are we thinking about packaging it? The company, which still sells sweets in plastic packaging, is taking a new path of innovation-testing a paper solution for its iconic Alpine chocolate.
Mondelez International, the powerful company behind the Milka brand, has decided to solve the problem of the ubiquitous use of plastic-to bring paper packaging to the German market. They are designed not only to protect the product, but also for more sustainable packaging methods.

Traditional plastic film, although widely used, is becoming increasingly problematic from an environmental point of view. This is why Milka turns to paper, which, thanks to the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certification, ensures that the material comes from responsible forest sources. Moreover, each package contains instructions on how to properly dispose of them, helping to reduce the negative impact on the environment.

We are happy to start this testing phase. Our goal is to use packaging that protects our chocolate, pleases Milk fans, and protects the environment. With a limited edition, Milka fans can see the usual quality and delicate taste of Milka Alpine milk chocolate on paper - highlights Alexander Nordloh, Director of Chocolate Marketing at Mondelēz International
Testing a paper alternative is not only a step forward in the field of sustainability, but also an inspiration for other manufacturers around the world. Mondelez International proves that innovation can go hand in hand with caring for the environment, opening up new opportunities for the future of food packaging.
While we wait for the test results, we'll keep our fingers crossed for the success of this organic initiative that could change the face of the food industry!
